A fine century by Nikosie Barker propelled Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) to a comprehensive 198-run victory over Ace Warriors, while Transports Sports Club (TSC) defeated Sophia by six wickets when the Latest round of matches in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/New Building Society second division 40-over tournament concluded yesterday.
Barker hammered fourteen fours and two sixes as host MSC posted 264 all out in 40 overs, batting first.
Barker was supported by Orin Forde who struck five fours in scoring 37 and Kareem Naughton with 29. Raja Aaron grabbed 4-53.
Ace Warriors never recovered from a poor start and were skittled for 66 in 11 overs in reply.
Murtland Ward made 12 and Aaron 11 as medium pacer Jamal Mc Kenzie bagged 5-23 and Steven Sankar 2-4.
At GNIC SC, Sophia scored 161 all out in 31.5 overs, taking first strike. R. Dataram stroked 51, N. George 28 and A. Persaud 18; Joshua Wilson captured 3-19, Junior Duncan 3-42 and Kevin Ross 2-24.
TSC responded with 162-4 in 19.1 overs. Shemroy Kendall led the chase with an even half century while Devaughn Nandan hit 24 not out and Keon Morris 20. D. Peters took 2-26.
