In recognition of Deaf Awareness Week, representatives of the telecommunications giant, Digicel, paid a visit to four special needs schools in Regions Three, Four, Six and Ten on Wednesday last. At the schools they made some donations.
These schools cater for deaf students in one way or another with dedicated teachers at their service. The schools visited were the Diamond Primary (Deaf Class), New Amsterdam Special School, Linden Special School and Tuschen Deaf School.
Digicel’s Head of Marketing, Jacqueline James, and other members of staff visited the students there and donated some lunch packs.
James said that special needs is an area that Digicel believes great emphasis should be placed on and they are committed to leading in this venture as a corporate entity.
