Britany Mack, who became Guyana’s first ever female Sub-Junior competitor on the international stage, ensured her name will forever be etched in the history books with some scintillating lifts at the 15th NAPF / FESUPO Pan-American Powerlifting Championships in Ribeirao Preto, Brazil.
Also shining for the Golden Arrowhead were Rudolph Blackman who was also golden in his performances, while Marino Jeffrey and Andrea Smith continued from where they left off in the Raw segment of the championships with more medals in the Equipped.
Britany Mack competing in the 52kg Sub-Junior class was crowned the Overall Pan American and South American champion. In dominating her peers, Mack took Overall silver in the Squat (107.5kg), Benchpress(42.5kg) and Deadlift (120kg) in the South American segment of the championships while bronze was achieved in the Pan American.
Rudolph Blackman captured gold in both segments of the championships contesting the 83kg Junior category. Blackman had a best Squat of 275kg, Bench Pressed 155kg with a Deadlift of 275kg. He also copped Overall silver in the Pan American and South American Open class; Pan Am/South American Deadlift gold with silver in both the Bench Press and Squat. According to reports out of Brazil, Blackman could have done much better but suffered from the big stage jitters.
Marino Jeffrey, campaigning in the 93kg division did a best Squat of 275kg, Bench Pressed 165kg and Deadlift 240kg which allowed him to win the Overall South American silver as well as Bench Press while taking Pan Am and South American bronze.
Andrea Smith, competing in the female 57kg category achieved a best Squat of 120kg, Bench Press 115kg and Deadlift 152.5kg which earned her bronze medals in all three lifts as well as the Overall Pan Am and South American bronze medals.
Raw results
Jeffrey captured gold in the South American (Overall) while also taking Overall Pan American bronze. Battling in the 93kg class, Jeffrey achieved a Squat of 222.5kg, Bench Press 100kg and a Deadlift of 227.5 for a Total of 549.5kg.
Dr. Osmand Mack took South American Overall bronze in the 73kg class with a Total of 580kg (Squat 202.5kg; Bench Press 137.5kg; Deadlift 240kg).

Smith on debut at this level achieved South American Overall bronze whilst also achieving Personal Best (PB) lifts in the Bench Press and Deadlift. Smith had an Overall Total of 315kg, all bronze medal performances.
Smith set a new Bench Press PB of 57.5kg and Deadlift PB of 147.5kg whilst doing 110kg in the Squat. (Franklin Wilson)
