US (Baltimore Sun) – Six Baltimore men have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a Middle River man in August, Baltimore County police announced Monday.
The victim, 26-year-old Sandeep Bhulai, was shot with three guns, police said. Investigators believe the suspects — who range in age from 18 to 20 — went to the neighborhood to steal a car.
“It was an extremely brutal crime,” said Cpl. John Wachter, a police spokesman.
Bhulai was found dead August 9, lying in a grassy area on Dark Head Road near Redthorn Road, where he lived.
He left behind a five-year-old daughter, Kaylie Bhulai, said his girlfriend, Alicia Harrell, 26, the child’s mother.
He had recently received his commercial driver’s license, Harrell said. Two weeks before his death, he started a job working for a dump-truck company in the White Marsh area.
Bhulai emigrated to the U.S. as a child from Guyana, she said. He loved working on cars and had long wanted to become a truck driver.
“He just loved working,” Harrell said. “Hopefully, justice will be served.”
According to police, Bhulai had returned to his neighborhood and was sitting in his car when the men approached him. The suspects allegedly pulled him out of the car and took his wallet and cell phone.
The suspects then shot him, fled and left Bhulai’s car behind, police said.
The suspects, all of Baltimore, are identified as: Keith Terrell Harrison, 18; Michael Anthony Jobes, 20; Hassan Emanuel Jones, 18; Christian Isaiha Lemel Tyson, 18; Ramart Emanuel Wilson, 19; and Kareem Raquan Riley, 19.
All were arrested last week, Wachter said. Harrison, Jobes, Jones and Tyson are being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, he said. Wilson has been released on $50,000 bail.
Riley was arrested by U.S. marshals in Buffalo, N.Y., and is expected to be extradited to Maryland, Wachter said.
None of the men has attorneys listed in online court records.
