The Zorg Sports Club (ZSC) will be hosting a limited overs competition on Saturday as part of its programme for the continuous development for Under-15 and female cricketers on the Essequibo Coast.
The competition involves teams from South, North and New Opportunity Corps (NOC) as well as a Region two female open team. South will take on NOC and North will battle the female side in two 15-over contests before the winners clash in the final which will be of 20 overs duration.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport, Coach Forbes Daniels said the club wants to be consistent in promoting the game which will rekindle the passion for the sport among the players and fans in the district.
He feels the area possesses a number of talented players but if they do not get an opportunity to hone their skills, growth will be stagnant. Daniels lauded the executive members of the Zorg SC and the parents for their assistance. Action gets underway at 09:00hrs.
