Police host Albion at Cumberland, RHT Gizmos and Gadgets at home to Port Mourant
The highly anticipated semi finals of 2015 Berbice River Bridge 50 Over First Division Knockout Cricket Competition is set for tomorrow at the Area ‘H’ Ground in Rose Hall Town and the picturesque Cumberland Cricket Ground in East Canje.
At Area ‘H’, is a third round game between neighbors Port Mourant and Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets which is a virtual semi final with the winner going straight to the finals. The rivalry will bring the best of both teams with Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets having the home advantage. They have in their lineup West Indies middle order batsman Assad Fudadin and he will be supported by wicketkeeper batsman Jason Sinclair, Delbert Hicks, Vidal Crandon and all rounders Clinton Pestano, Shawn Perreira and Eon Hooper.
Port Mourant will be led by the young and talented all rounder Arif Chan, with support from Lloydel Lewis, Demitri and Nicholas Cameron, all former Rose Hall Town youth cricketers.
At Cumberland, giant killers Police may not have individual stars but they have over the last twelve months performed beyond expectations, defeating many top teams in Berbice cricket. However, the powerful Albion team will start as favorites. Police will be led by the experienced former Berbice all rounder Michael Newland. He will have support from Brentnol Woolford, Andel Doris, Albert Sinclair and Qwesi Mickle.
The powerful Albion will have in their lineup controversially dropped West Indies left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul. Prolific T20 star Jonathan Foo will lend support along with the young brigade of Kandasammy Surujnarine, Sharaz Ramcharran, David Latchaya, Balchand Baldeo and Gudakesh Motie.
Matches start at 9:30am.
