Dear Editor,
Port Kaituma Teachers Association held its 1st meeting of its school year on September 5th, 2015.
Among the topics that were discussed was the absence of a Charwoman at the Port Kaituma Primary School forcing the association and administration to make a number of decisions.
Among these are that funds will be donated to pay a charwoman to clean the sanitary block which consists of 15 toilets, of which one is being used by staff members.
It was also decided that families will pay $500 per month for three charwomen to be retained and paid monthly.
Out of that money, detergents and cleaning materials will be purchased.
It is our hope that this situation does not remain the responsibility of parents for any unreasonable time as it was decided that failure will see the school being closed in protests. We look forward to hearing from the relevant authorities.
Concerned Port Kaituma parents
