The Government of Guyana has introduced new faces to a number of State boards and agencies as it continues with its shakeup.
Amongst the faces is Madam Justice Claudette Singh, who has been appointed the Chairman of the Customs Tariff Tribunal. Her appointment was recently published in the Official Gazette of Guyana dated August 13, 2015.
Bish Panday, Gino Persaud, Jacob Daley and representatives from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and the Parliamentary Opposition were also announced as members of the said tribunal.
The Customs Tribunal is expected to perform as an oversight and mediatory body that allows members of the public to voice their dissatisfaction with duty or tariff related issues. This tribunal comes under the Customs Act of Guyana.
Additionally, Singh appeared once more on the Guyana Security Council as one of its members. Keith Cholmondeley is appointed as Chairman of this council. Other members include Ell Glen and Donna Levi.
