All roads lead to the Rising Sun Turf Club (RSTC), Arima Park, West Coast Berbice tomorrow for the eagerly anticipated inaugural ‘Real President Cup’ Horse Race Meet which is being held in honour of Guyana’s President, His Excellency Brigadier David Granger.
Thousands are expected to converge at the famous Rising Sun Turf Club venue for the event which is organized by RSTC in collaboration with Inshan Bacchus ‘Hard Runnings’ Trucking Service and friends of Rising Sun.
Chief Organizer, Fazal Habibulla has disclosed that over 85 of the country’s best horses have entered to compete so far. Nine top notch races are listed for the day which has over $ 7.5 million in incentives available for the takings including cash and trophies.
The feature event is for A and lower horses over 1600m and has attracted 11 entries so far. Two-time Guyana Cup champion and the inform C.P Got Even of the Elcock/Poonai Stable will be looking for another win to add to its increasing trophy cabinet.
Among some of the other horses set to compete are Jack In MY Style, Diplomatic Cat, California Strike, Street Prince, Kazi Azari, Lady Budapest, Western Charm, and Three D. Other races on the day include
The three year-old West Indies bred 1400M, two year-old for West Indies and Guyana Bred horses over 1100M for a winning purse of $350,000 and trophy, J and Lower 1100M for a top prize of $240,000 and trophy, K and Lower 100M with the winner taking home $200,000 and trophy.
Top jockeys, runner, stable and trainer will be presented with incentives compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall and the organizers. Meanwhile Steve’s Jewelery has joined the list of sponsors that includes Banks DIH Limited, Inshan Bacchus Hard Runnings Tucking Service and Racing Stable, Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stable, Mohammed “Nankoo” Shariff Business Entity and Racing Stables, Trophy Stall Bourda Market, Miner Pabdeep Abdul, Habla Meat Centre, Rising Sun Cattle Ranch and the Chester Fry Chicken Bush Lot among others.
The race will be run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
