A Danielstown teenager lost his life in an accident while he was returning to his home on Tuesday night.
Nineteen-year-old Anil Henry, formerly of Danielstown, on the Essequibo Coast, was pronounced dead by doctors at the Suddie Public Hospital after he was transported to the medical institution by friends.
According to reports, Henry, who worked in the interior, was riding his motorcycle CH 4660, proceeding south on the eastern side of the Danielstown Public Road at around 21:15 hrs, and collided with motor car PHH 6855.
The driver is said to be a fireman.
Henry sustained massive injuries to his head.
The deceased youth’s mother, Blossom Henry related that she last saw her son early Tuesday night. She said that he visited her residence at Hampton Court and was in high spirits. Henry said that her son, who was living with his grandparents at Danielstown at the time of his death, had transported one of his sisters to her home at Hampton Court moments before he met his demise.
“I asked him where his helmet was and he told me that ‘Jesus is going to protect me’ because he usually prays.”
Henry said that her son told her that it was “ladies night” and then departed on his motorcycle.
Anil Henry’s death comes several weeks after two cousins died tragically after the vehicle that they were traveling in crashed into and destroyed a bus shed on the Lima Public Road. (Yannason Duncan)
