The retail prices for gasoline and diesel from the Guyana Oil Company Limited (GuyOil) have been reduced. This was announced yesterday by Minister of Finance, Winston Jordan before the debate continued on Budget 2015.
Jordan told the members of the National Assembly that as of today, gasoline will retail at $199 per litre. Its previous price tag was $210. He said, too that diesel will retail at $168 per litre. Diesel was being sold at $174.
The Finance Minister expressed hope that these new prices will be passed on to the consumers, especially in light of the opening of school, when children would have to be using public transportation.
