The Number Five Under-17 football team, over the weekend, proved to be just too much for their counterparts representing Number Thirty Village.
It was a friendly match organized by the West Berbice Police District, as part of their partnership with the community initiative, with a sizeable crowd in attendance.
The game was dominated by Number Five from the very beginning, and at half time the score was five to zero, with Dawit Watts netting a hatt-trick.
Philip Jordan also joined the goal fest during the second half of the encounter, and at the end, the score was ten goals to zero.
Most of the players from the Number Thirty team were happy for the exposure, and claimed that it was a good learning experience for them even though they were blown away by their opponent.
The Number Five unit, coached by former national player Gordon Braithwaite, is ranked among the elite of the country, and he felt that under the circumstances the team from Number Thirty gave a good account of themselves. They were up against a well-organized team, which has been competing at the national level.
