Thirty one swimmers selected by the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) departed Wednesday morning to participate in the XXI Goodwill Swim Meet in Trinidad and Tobago. Other Countries participating are Barbados, Suriname, St. Lucia, Bahamas and the host country.
GASA has expressed gratitude to all those who have contributed in making the trip possible, including the Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Nicolette Henry, Guyana Revenue Authority for granting the necessary Tax Waivers and Director of Sport Christopher Jones for providing the team uniforms.
The team reads; Paul Mahaica, Jonathan Van Lange, Aleka Persaud, Patrice Mahaica, Antonio Dey, Ariel Rodrigues, Leon Seaton, Noel Raekwon, Ejaz Mohamed, Antwon Pinto, Lian Winter, Amber Degoeas, Niketa Peters, Sekhel Tzedeq, Jaden George, Danielle George, Jacida George, Keanule Inniss, Alex Winter, Nathan Hackett, Antonio Hussein, Antonio Rodrigues, Kenita Mahaica, Amy Grant, Judea Crandon, Anna Isaacs, Phillip De Nobrega, Hannibal Gaskin, Omar Adams, Jamal Skeete, Accalia Khan, Nikita Feidtkou, Onkia George, Kayth Goddette, Keon Smith (team manager), Shyka Gonsalves (asst. team manager), Sean Baksh (head coach), Isabel Cousa Fals (asst. coach), Paul Mahaica (asst. coach) and Ivan Persaud (president).
The games commenced yesterday and conclude on Sunday.
