The Cricket Development Committee of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club has set Sunday 23rd August, 2015, as the new date for the hosting of the Assuria Insurance 5-Overs Knock-out Second Division Tournament. The Tournament was first set for 21st June, 2015, and then on Caricom Day but both dates was washed out by the rainy season.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster announced that the Tournament would now be played at the Area “H” Ground and would involve twelve teams. The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club would be playing two teams – Rose Hall Town Bakewell “A” and “B”, while ten teams have been invited and they are Blairmont, D’Edward, No.43, Port Mourant, Yakusari, Young Warriors, Police, Courtland, Tamarind Root and Cotton Tree.
The Winning team would take home $70,000 and the Championship trophy, the losing finalist $30,000 and trophy, while third place would carry away $20,000 and trophy.
Foster, stated that the Tournament is being organised under the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club “Say No the Drugs and Suicide Programme” and the messages would be promoted throughout the Tournament. He expressed gratitude to the Management of Assuria especially General Manager Yogindra Arjune for their sponsorship of the Tournament. Assuria recently opened a new branch for Berbicians in Williamsburg, Rose Hall Town and the Tournament would be used to promote its work.
The Rose Hall Town Bakewell teams for the Tournament are:
A: – James Fraser (Captain), Khemraj Mahadeo, Vihal Crandon, Delbert Hicks, Brandon Prashad, Collis Butts, Shemaine Campbelle, Erva Giddings, Mark Papannah, Sylus Tyndall, Mark Fernandes, Roydel Lewis, Joshua Wilson, Justin Gobin and Michael Hicks.
B: – Simon Lawson, Kumar Jeet Joseph, Jason Anderson, Denzil Sinclair, Kevlon Anderson, Keith Sinclair, Seeindra Marimutoo, Azad Khan, Surendra Kissoonlall, Joshua Gobin, Calvin Jeffrey, Surendra Budhoo, Matthew Pottaya, Clement Brusch and Joel Pike.
The remaining clubs are asked to submit their squads by Sunday 16th August, 2015, to email: [email protected].
