South Windward Islands defeated Guyana by seven wickets when the Regional Women’s Super 50 tournament continued yesterday in Trinidad and Tobago.
Batting first at Gilbert Park, Guyana posted 158-7 in 50 overs. Shemaine Campbelle struck an unbeaten 49, while Subrina Munroe made 17 and Melanie Henry 16. Stacy Ann Adams and Afy Fletcher claimed two wickets each.
South Windwards replied with 159-3 in 47 overs. Cordel Jack led with the chase with an undefeated 83 off 149 balls including five fours and one six while Rachael Cyrus scored 30. Tremayne Smartt, Erva Giddings and Akaze Thompson picked up one wicket each.
At Macaulay Park, Barbados thumped North Windwards by a mammoth 181 runs. Barbados took first strike and scored 201 all out in 44.2 overs. Kycia Knight cracked 65 and Malissa Howard made 62; Roylyn Cooper grabbed 5-31. North Windwards were skittled for 20 in 12.1 overs. Shakira Selman bagged 6-10 and Shamilia Connell 4-8.
