One of the two men wanted for the murder of a male commercial sex worker late last month has been captured by police.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed yesterday that they are questioning 42-year-old Ron Forde who was caught in a house at Linden on Sunday.
“He is currently being questioned by the Major Crimes Investigation Unit,” the Crime Chief told this newspaper.
Police are still looking for another man Kanand Ojha of Lot 2 First Street, Meadow Bank, EBD., who was also implicated in the killing of 20-year-old Noel ‘Nephi ‘ Luthers, a male sex worker, who was gunned down on July 27, last, at Carmichael and Quamina Streets, Georgetown.
Forde is believed to be the trigger man in the incident.
Luthers, 20, of ZZ Durban Street, Wortmanville, was shot once to his chest during a confrontation with Ojha and Forde.
It is believed that on the night of the shooting, Ojha left the Guyana National Stadium and went in the vicinity of St George’s Cathedral, where he paid a sex worker $5000 to perform a sex act.
During the act, he was reportedly relieved of his personal belongings. After the act was completed, he left in his motor car, but subsequently realised that his phone and cash were missing.
It is alleged that Ojha collected Forde and went back to the location where they confronted Luthers, but he denied doing business with the man, which resulted in an argument.
At this time, Ojha’s friend Forde reportedly pulled out the gun and pulled the trigger, shooting Luthers to his chest. He fell to the roadway and the two men fled the scene.
