The Berbice Cricket Board has announced that it has raised close to $800,000 from the recently held Fund Raiser, Caricom Championship 2015. These funds will be used mainly to organise a three day first division cricket competition for teams in Berbice.
A release from the board explained that because of the high cost, it is finding it difficult to attract a single sponsor for this important tournament, resulting in this initiative. The release added that three day cricket is critical in the development process of players and the game in general. In addition to proceeds from this event, the BCB wrote the Ministry of Sports for help and is confident that help will be there after the budget. Calls were also made for other businesses, private individuals and former cricketers/administrators to come on board and help with the return of three day first division cricket in the county.

The runner up received $40,000 and a trophy. The losing finalists collected $15,000 each. Man of the match in every game was rewarded.
The BCB would like to thank the following sponsors who made the event possible: ANSA MCAL under the Carib Brand, Sentinel Security, East Coast Cricket Board/Georgetown Cricket Association, Anand Persaud of NTN Television, Tain, Republic Bank Berbice Branches, Nand Persaud and Company Karibee Rice, NPG Packaging, P&P Insurance Brokers and Consultants Limited, ENetworks, Massy Industries, Massy Distribution, Hand in Hand Group of Insurance, Raffik and Sons Construction Services of Williamsburg, B Debydeen, Caterer of Albion Estate Road, Corentyne, New Building Society Ltd, Soogee Seubarran, Balram Shane of Rose Hall Town, Sunshine Supermarket, Tribhowan Jagdeo, Ronald Williams of Apex Insurance Brokers Inc, Sandeep Ramdass of Ishmail Poultry, popularly known as Pampey, Asheik and Sons Motor Spares and Auto Sale, Safraz Photo Studio, Rocky of Palace Taxi Service, Restaurant and Bar, LaGrill Restaurant and Bar, D Harricharran of Beauty and Home Design, Sheik Mohamed of Tiger Sports Club, Office Express, RHTY&SC, Trophy Stall of Bourda Market, Price is Right Supermarket of No 79 Corriverton, Venu Shopping Center and Beauty Saloon and TVG.
