Current national champions Sudesh Fitzgerald and Rosetta Hiralall shared the top honours after capturing the Ansa McAl Stag Beer Emancipation Day Darts Tournament Men’s and Ladies singles titles respectively on Sunday, at the Malteenoes Sports Club.
For their efforts, they each pocketed $20,000. Runner-up in the respective categories Anil Lallchand and Jean DeSouza walked away with $10,000 each.
In the “Luck of the Draw”, Sudesh Fitzgerald and Raphael DeSouza defeated Anil Lallchand and Adrian Damon in the final to cart off the first prize of $9,000 plus a case of Stag beer.
The shortest game in the tournament was recorded by Sudesh Fitzgerald, who completed his game with 16 darts, while Jean DeSouza recorded the shortest game for the females with 34 darts.
The Guyana Darts Association expressed its profound gratitude to sponsor Ansa McAl for making the tournament possible.
