Promising National Under-17 wicketkeeper/batsman Ritesh Omrao was presented a batting helmet to assist in his further development as a cricketer.
The Albion and Berbice player was promised the helmet by Dave Sookrah, formerly of Reliance Settlement, East Canjie Berbice, who now resides in the USA.
Speaking on behalf of Sookrah was former national all rounder Hubern Evans who said that Omrao’s talent was recognized by the sponsor since he was an under-15 player and his progress was closely followed over the years as Evans made the presentation during Saturday’s BCB fund raising cricket tournament at Albion.
“He (Sookrah) is delighted with his growth as a cricketer and is impressed with his work ethics and attitude. As a result, he thought it fitting to gift him this token. Sookrah will continue to help the young cricketer as the need arises,” disclosed Evans.
In response, Omrao thanked Sookrah and promised to make full use of the helmet. He also promised to stay focused, work hard and strive for more success.
