Despite the law enforcement authorities’ best efforts, bandits continue to strike. Intruders around 15:30 hrs on Friday held up the porter and driver salesman of a bakery truck before robbing them of a substantial sum of money.
According to information, the Canter truck which belongs to Ali’s Bakery had stopped at Bush Lot, Corentyne to make a delivery when the occupants were held up by two masked men armed with guns.
The bandits after threatening the two men reportedly took away over $200,000 in cash and $500,000 in phone cards.
They also carted off a cell phone which belonged to one of the men before escaping in a waiting car.
