Edward Skeete, also called “Pretty Boy”, appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer the charge for the Turning Point, Tucville murder.
The 28-year-old accused of Lot 309 Independence Boulevard, Georgetown, was not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that between July 14 and July 24 at Georgetown, he unlawfully killed Rayon Clementson.
The mason was unrepresented at court.
The prosecution’s facts were not presented by Police Corporal Deniro Jones and the matter was adjourned to August 14.
Jones stated that according to police reports, Clementson, 25, of Mocha Arcadia, East Bank Demerara succumbed to his injuries after he was shot by a lone gunman while in the company of another man at Turning Point, Tucville.
According to information received, Clementson was standing on the bridge at Turning Point when a man drove up on a motorcycle and discharged several rounds in his direction before fleeing. The now dead man was hit in his upper leg.
It was believed that Rayon Clementson was also armed but did not get the chance to return fire as the suspect managed to flee the scene.
