Windward Islands defeated Barbados by five wickets when the Regional U19 50-over tournament continued yesterday in Jamaica.
At St. Elizabeth High School ground, Barbados were bowled out for 138 in 45 overs, batting first. Nicholas Kirton top scored with 26, Leniko Boucher made 24 and Zachary McCaskie 18. Ryan John claimed 4-14, while there was two each for Othneil Lewis, Gidron Pope and Kyle Cabey. Windwards replied with 139-5 in 39 overs. Emmanuel Stewart led with 43; Pope scored 27 and Johnel Eugene 22. Keon Harding captured 2-34.
On Monday, Trinidad and Tobago thumped Canada by 138 runs.
Trinidad and Tobago batted first and scored 283-9 off 50 overs. Cephas Cooper slammed 67, Amir Jangoo 64, Anderson Phillip 44, Bryan Boodram 31 and Jameel Maniram 26. Kurt Ramdath, Shlok Patel and Harsha Tahaker claimed two wickets each.
Canada were bowled out for 145 in 45.5 overs in reply. Abraash Khan scored 24 as Anderson Phillip snared three and Clevon Kalawan two scalps.
