Copa Airlines, a subsidiary of Copa Holdings, S.A., and member of the Star Alliance global airline network, continues its position as the top airline in on-time performance and flight completion in Latin America and Colombia during first semester 2015, according to FlightStats, recognized globally for its accurate research and data collection in international aviation.
The airline currently operates flights between Guyana and Panama.
Copa, according to a statement yesterday, said it completed the first six months of the year with an average on-time performance of 91 percent for Latin American operations and 93 percent in Colombia.
“These first-semester results are a reflection of the hard work and dedication of all our in-flight and ground personnel in each of our 74 destinations across the continent,” said Pedro Heilbron, CEO of Copa Airlines.
“This achievement demonstrates our commitment to our passengers, who also enjoy our world-class service and the best connectivity through our Hub of the Americas in Panama.”
FightStats recognized Copa Airlines as the “top on-time airline in Latin America” during 2013 and 2014. Since then, Copa’s on-time performance and flight completion have strengthened the airline’s competitiveness in the regional aviation market.
“Our passengers appreciate the fact that they can make fast, convenient, and comfortable connections to 74 destinations in 30 countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean because of the connectivity we offer throughout the hub of the Americas,” Heilbron added.
FlightStats provides data services and solutions to customers serving the global travel industry.
The company has established a leadership position as a provider of real-time global flight information, servicing airlines, airports, travel agencies, developers, consumers, and more.
Copa Airlines and Copa Airlines Colombia, subsidiaries of Copa Holdings, are leading Latin American providers of passengers and cargo services.
The airlines offer service to 74 destinations in 30 countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. During Copa Airlines’ more than 65 years of uninterrupted operations, it has transformed the hub of the Americas in Panama into the leading hub on the continent.
Copa operates one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the industry, consisting of 98 aircraft, 72 Boeing 737 Next-Generation and 26 Embraer-190, and has an on-time performance of 90.66 percent, one of the best in the industry.
In 2014 Copa Airlines was named “Leading Airline in Mexico and Central America’” by World Travel Awards and “most on-time airline in Latin America” by FlightStats.
