Guyana Boys and Girls Teams have both qualified for the semi -finals of the Junior Caribbean Squash Championships 2015 to be contested today.
Both teams topped their respective groups.
Both teams will renew their rivalry with Jamaica with the Girls Team playing their match at 1.00 pm and the Boys Team at 5.30 pm.
The Guyana Team started off well in its defence of the three Junior Caribbean Team titles that it currently holds.
Because of both the Boys and Girls Team being seeded number one in the Team tournaments they were drawn in three team pools.
In the Boys Team Competition Guyana were in pool A along with Barbados and Bermuda and in the Girls Guyana were in pool C along with Trinidad & Tobago and Bermuda.
On day one in the first Boys Team match Guyana defeated Bermuda by three matches to two.
First up was Shomari Wiltshire and in a repeat of the Boys Under-13 final he defeated Charlie Riker by three games to love. Alec Melville played well but went down to Dylan Muldoon by three games to one.
In a battle of the number 1 Under-19’s Nyron Joseph defeated Kion Knights by three games to love. Benjamin Mekdeci then sealed the victory for Team Guyana with an easy three nil victory over Dylan Pratt.
In the dead rubber Daniel Islam fought hard but eventually lost in five close games to Tyler Carrick three games to two.
The next team game for Guyana was Pool C Girls team match against Trinidad & Tobago. First on court was Kirsten Gomes against Chloe Walcott. Kirsten lost the first game but won the next three to win the match by three games to one.

First on court was Kirsten Gomes against Abigail Brewer. Kirsten was no match for Abigail and went down easily by three games to love.
Makeda Harding then evened the score line at one all with a hard fought come from behind victory over Charlotte Toogood. Charlotte won the first two games but Makeda gave it her all to win the next three games and the match. Akeila Wiltshire easily disposed of Susanna Armanoin three straight games.
Rebecca Low was made to work hard but defeated Madeline Rose by three games to love and Larissa Wiltshire completed the four matches to one victory with a straight games win over Tiye Williams. On day three the Boys team took on Barbados which was to decide who would top the group but surprisingly Barbados seemed to be conceding defeat as they rested Shomani Griffith the Boys Under-17 Individual Champion. Everyone was looking forward to the individual final return clash between Benjamin Mekdeci and Shomani Griffith but instead Ben played Zachary Harris and dispatched him three games to love.
Khamal Cumberbatch Boys Under-15 Champion easily disposed of Daniel Islam in three straight games. Nyron Joseph was too good for Benjamin Griffith winning three games to love.
