The Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPF) in its quest to continue its good showing at international events has shortlisted an 8-member team to represent the Golden Arrowhead at the 15th Pan Am and 30th FESUPO South American Championships set for Ribeirao Preto, Brazil in September. Three female lifters who have all impressed since coming on the scene have been included; they are Chloe Hunter, Andrea Smith and Britney Mack.
One of this nation’s most accomplished lifters, Winston Stoby will headline the team along with another of Guyana’s best but from the most recent era, Vijay Rahim.
Dr. Osmand Mack, father of Britney is also included on the team as well as Rudolph Blackman and Marino Jeffrey. Also, the GAPF will be sending two persons to do the IPF Certified Referees (category 2) exams as they seek to increase the pool of international officials. The two candidates are Denroy Livan and Dawn Barker.
