There is less than a week to go before the restart of the Horseracing season in Guyana which will herald in the second half of what is expected to be an action packed period of racing.
The Bush Lot United Turf Club (BLUTC) at Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice will be the venue with preparations at an advance stage with the venue being abuzz with activities.
So far over 45 horses have entered.
Eight races are carded for the day with a prize package of over $5.5M up for the taking which includes cash, trophies and other incentives.
A number of top class animals have been entered for the meet which will make it even more spectacular.
The Feature ‘C’ and lower compliments of Banks DIH Limited for a winning pocket of $1M and trophy over 1600M for a total package of $2M that will see the likes of Spit Fire, Jack in My Style and the much vaunted Diplomatic Cat renewing their rivalry as they compete against the likes of Plum Plum, Guyana Time, Unsettled, Bridal Stone Corner among others.
Animals such as Strom Bird, Country Girl, Keep On Swinging, Its My Choice, Gold D Cova and Settling Star has been entered in the event for the three year old West Indies Bred animals for a take home of $350,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The E1 and lower over 1500M for a first prize of $350,000 and trophy will see among others Captain Crook, Mansoon and Fresh Again.
Rosetta, Dream Come through, Precise Gold Shantal are among the animals entered for the G2 and lower race for the winners money of $300,000 and trophy over 1300M.
The 1000M race for two year old Guyana and West Indies bred and born animals has a winning money of $300,000 and trophy.
The organizers have added the event for horses classified I and lower and three year old Guyana Bred horses over 1300M for a winning take of $200,000 and trophy which will see the likes of Amazon Warrior competing.
The animals classified J and lower will be competing for a first prize of $180,000 over 1300M.
The final event will be K and lower horses over 1300M for winning a winning pocket of $140,000 and trophy respectively.
