…GCB President urges players to play as a unit
Defending Regional Under-19 Champions, Guyana, departed for Jamaica yesterday morning for the Regional U19 50-over tournament which bowls off on Wednesday July 22.
Speaking with the players just before their departure at the Wind Jammer hotel in Kitty, President of Guyana Cricket Board (GCB), Drubahadur urged them to play as a unit, noting that it would be a phenomenal achievement if they repeat their success since they would not be playing at home. The President also told the players to guard against complacency.
Territorial Development Officer (TDO), Colin Stuart, congratulated the boys for being selected on the team. He noted that the weather was not favourable during the preparation period but said he is happy with their commitment. “As players you should know your limitations, work towards your strengths and always put the team goals ahead of personal goals.”
