Reigning Mr. Guyana Kerwyn Clarke is set and ready to defend his title when the Supligen Mr. Guyana 2015 body building and fitness championships takes place this evening at the Park View Hotel, Farm, East Bank Demerara.
Clarke has been dominating as the best in the land for the past two years and would not be easy to beat but on the same note, other athletes are eager to dethrone the champ but will have to come good.
Canada based Eustace Abraham whose exploits are well known on the body building stage is in Guyana and has been training but it is not certain if he would be one of the competitors this evening. The close off for athletes to affirm if they are competing is today between the hours of 9 and 1pm which will also serve as the weigh in at the competition venue.
Kaieteur Sport understands that up to last evening, 34 athletes would have signaled their intentions to compete including three females. Clarke will be coming up against the likes of Sylvester Andrews, Alfred Jordon, Alex Hamilton, 2015 Novice Champion Chaitram Nagessar and Ron Lonke among others.
Competition categories are: Men’s Physique, Miss Bikini, Miss Body Fitness, Junior, Masters, Under-132 lbs, Under-143 lbs, Under-154 lbs, Under-164 lbs, Under-176 lbs and Over 176 lbs. The respective male category winners will clash for the title of Mr. Guyana 2015.
Attractive prizes are at stake for the respective category winners including hampers compliments of Fitness Express while the Mr. Guyana would also be rewarded with a 42″ TV, compliments of Digital Technology.
