Senior officers of the Region Two Administration and Heads of Department from the Health, Education, Sanitation, Drainage and Irrigation Departments will interface with members of the various communities in the Region to get an understanding of some of the most critical problems that affects them.
Devenand Ramdatt, the Regional Chairman disclosed at a recent Regional Democratic meeting that the “Face the Community meeting” would extend to Communities on the Coastlands as well as areas in the Hinterland Communities.
Ramdatt said that flooding and the generation of insufficient electricity were notable problems that residents in the Region often times complain about. He however said that continued efforts undertaken by the Region have alleviated the problem to a manageable extent.
Ramdatt also believes that in venturing into communities and interfacing with residents he and his team would get a clear understanding of the issues and reviews and recommendations would be made.
Ramdatt said that he is willing to work with his Council in order to bring about relief where necessary. He held the position of Assistant Director of Youth and Public Relations Officer for the People’s Progressive Party before assuming the position of Chairman. (Yannason Duncan)
