Jermaine Anderson, a 21 year-old of lot 34 Linden, allegedly broke into Ronel Paris’ storeroom and carted off a quantity of drink items. It is alleged that he committed the act between July 6 and July 7.
On Friday he made his first appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer to a charge of Break and Enter and Simple Larceny.
The court heard that Anderson stole two cases of Banks beer, one small case of cooking oil, and other items, all totaling $34,000.
The defendant denied the allegation before Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Anderson’s Attorney, Mortimer Coddett, during his bail application, asked for his client to be released on reasonable bail.
Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers objected to bail citing the seriousness and prevalence of the offence. The items were not recovered.
Anderson was ordered to return to court on July 22 after he was refused bail.
