Training now for Pan Am Juniors in Mexico next month
Guyana’s leading Badminton players, the Ramdhani siblings, Narayan and Priyanna recently competed at the Pan Am Games in Toronto, Canada from August 11-16 and performed creditably.
Having drawn byes to the second round, the junior players who were the youngest in the competition were not able to match their senior counterparts but according to reports coming out of Canada, they played well against senior opponents and were even applauded by the fans. They were both defeated by players from the Dominican Republic.
In a release from the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA), it was stated that the pair gained valuable experience from the exposure whilst receiving world ranking points.
They will now attention to getting in shape for the Pan American Juniors which will be held in Tijuana, Mexico from August 2-10, 2015. They are expected to play the Under-15 and 19 Singles, Doubles and Mix Doubles.
