On May 6, Paramdeo was transferred to the Mackenzie Hospital. He subsequently succumbed, on May 18, without regaining consciousness.
The matter was reported, investigations were carried out and Simeon was arrested and charged for the offence.
This matter was adjourned until August 5, for statements.
According to reports, Paramdeo, of Lot 192 Kuru Kuru, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, was riding his cycle on his way home from school when he collided with Simeon who was riding his motorcycle, in the vicinity of the Kuru Kuru Cemetery.
Paramdeo was rushed to the Guyana Defence Force’s medical centre in Timehri, then to the East Bank Regional Hospital and later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the GPHC.
Simeon suffered a broken jaw and internal bleeding. He had to undergo a series of surgeries to correct his deformed lower jaw before he was discharged.
