Rashleigh Bentick was crowned Mr. Gym Expo 2015 while Ms. Kavita Ganpat walked away with the Miss Best Legs and Miss Bikini top trophies on Sunday night in the Savannah Suite at the Pegasus Hotel when the 2015 edition of Fitness Paradise’ Gym Expo was held.
Fans and supporters were treated to a fine evening of muscle flexing displayed by athletes of the host Gym and their counterparts from Studio Body Shape of Suriname, the two gyms officially formalizing their link.
Bentick, who had earlier won the Mr. Fitness Paradise (Light) returned to stave off stiff opposition from the Mr. Fitness Paradise (Heavy) winner, Suriname’s Jermaine Karg in the Overall showdown between the two winners.
Bentick defeated Jamaul Tinnie (2014 winner) and Tae Eusibio in that order in the Light division, while Karg was the clear winner in another three-way contest that saw Caerus Cipriani having to settle for second, while Paul Meusa placed third.
Another Surinamese, Daes Burgzorg won the Mr. Hot Body contest leaving his colleagues from Fitness Paradise in his wake. Akil Gittnes took the second place followed by Dwayne Chung and Devon Wray.
On the distaff side, Ms. Kavita Ganpat was unstoppable in the Miss Best Legs and Miss Bikini competitions where the competitors contested over two-rounds in each instance. Ganpat, was very relaxed and did a fine job in wowing the crowd as she strolled away with the top spots from Ms. Kenita Wilkinson in both competitions.
Ms. Tamika Henry had to settle for the third place in the Miss Bikini contest while sisters, Tishana and Diana Persaud claimed third and fourth in the Miss Best Legs competition.
All the participants received trophies compliments of GT&T, while the Overall winner was also presented with a trophy by The Trophy Stall of Bourda Market as well as a supplement hamper donated by Fitness Express.
Declaring open the competition was GOA Executive Committee Member Dr. Karen Pilgrim who congratulated Fitness Paradise for bringing off such a show whilst also complimenting them for the initiative of linking with Studio Body Shape of Suriname.
