But no live radio, TV in Guyana
The National Communications Network (NCN) has assembled a Radio commentary team to broadcast the four matches in the 2015 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) that will be played in Guyana at the Guyana National Stadium from July 15-21.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors will play in all four games here as the local Franchise and the games will be important ones for the Warriors if they hope to advance the two eliminators and grand final in Trinidad and Tobago from July 23-26.
NCN Radio has selected Lead commentator Inderjeet Persaud, Sean Devers and Niam Chan, all with International experience along with Matthew Kissoon and Anthony Khemraj who will make their commentary debuts at this level. Former Guyana and West Indies Test players Clyde Butts and Travis Dowlin will be among the annalists for the CPL radio team.
Although the games will be heard throughout the Caribbean and further afield, cricket lovers in Guyana will only be able to enjoy t20 matches at the ground since, in keeping with CPL policy throughout the region, where games in host countries are only allowed delayed broadcasts, radio and television stations in Guyana will not broadcast the games live.
Fans are being encouraged to buy tickets early in order to see the games live, or wait until the delayed broadcasts will be aired at times to be announced by the respective stations.
Each franchise has four home games this year and the Warriors will play 2013 champions Jamaica Tallawahs at on July 15 at 18:00hrs, St Lucia Zouks on July 17 at 20:00hrs, defending champions Barbados Tridents on July 18 at 16:00hrs before facing Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel from 18:00hrs on July 21.
Unlike previous years when Guyana hosted matches earlier in the tournament, it will now stage the final round before the semis and final is contested in Port-of-Spain.
