Barticians, yesterday, through a peaceful picketing exercise in front of the Regional Administration office Building on Bartica, expressed their displeasure about an allegation of the incumbent Regional Chairman being
given a third term as Region Seven Chairman.
In overcast weather conditions around 11:00hrs yesterday, about 20 persons stood in front of the RDC Building bearing placards that proclaimed: “Manifesto 2015 said PPP/C had us in the pit, putting Gordon Bradford as R/C is putting Bartica deeper into the pit, he does nothing.” “We need quality Leaders”, “Under Bradford we are a depressed People.” “PPP/C Cronies must go.” “No Consultation is equal to no Democracy.” “This disrespect must stop.” “Is this the change we voted for?” and “23 years of dictatorship is enough.”
The Regional Democratic Council of Region Seven is scheduled to convene on Tuesday, to duly elect its Regional Chairman and Regional Vice Chairman.
