A mother is pleading for her 15-year-old daughter to return home after the girl went missing exactly a
month ago.
Missing is Nikita Persaud of Vreed-en-Hoop, West Bank Demerara. According to Persaud’s mother, Monica Kallicharran, the girl was sent by her father to purchase some DVDs but failed to return. The mother explained that the girl lived with her father. Kallicharran said she was first alerted that something was wrong when Persaud’s father called to question whether the girl was with her. To this day, the girl has not returned.
The mother further said that her daughter called on Sunday to inform the family that she was safe and doing well.
Nonetheless, the mother maintains that she wants her daughter home and is seeking the public’s assistance in locating her.
Kallicharran explained that the father was initially hesitant to report the matter to the media but after being advised by a welfare officer to make the matter public, the mother decided to go ahead and do so.
“I just want her to return to us, her family; that’s all I’m begging for,” the mother pleaded.
Anyone with information on Persaud’s whereabouts is asked to contact 277-0331, 691-3828, 691-8439, 264-2726 or the nearest police station.
