The annual Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) Olympic Day of Activities in conjunction
with the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) continued on Wednesday with the Future Open Tournament at The Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Open Men and Ladies Singles as well as Doubles continued with quarter-finals, semi-finals and third place playoffs. The remaining matches along with the finals and presentation were set for last evening.
Following are the results of Wednesday’s matches.
Men Singles Semi-Finals: Narayan Ramdhani defeated Avinash Odit: 21-9, 21-11.
Ladies Singles Semi-Finals: Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Ayanna Wickham-Watson: 21-3, 21-7; Kara Abrams defeated Abosaide Cadogan: 21-18, 21-4.
Third Place went to Abosaide Cadogan who defeated Ayanna Wickham-Watson: 21-3, 21-7.
Men Doubles Quarter Finals: Gokarn Ramdhani/Grandison Robinson defeated Akili Haynes/Tyrese Jeffrey: 21-12, 21-10; Jonathan Mangra/Avinash Odit defeated ransell Ramsaroop/Tyreese Richards: 21-7, 21-9.
Men Doubles Semi-Finals: Narayan Ramdhani/Nicholas Ali defeated William Holder/Haymant Ramdhani: 21-10, 21-14; Jonathan Mangra/Avinash Odit defeated the Grand Masters Gokarn Ramdhani/Grandison Robinson: 21-12, 18-21, 21-16 in an exciting three setter.
Ladies Doubles Semi-Finals: Priyanna Ramdhani/Abosiade Cadogan defeated Ayanna Wickham-Watson/Emelia Ramdhani 21-7, 21-7; Kara Abrams/Siya Persaud defeated Andrea Bernard/Amanda Daniels: 21-11, 21-11.
