DEAR EDITOR,
I have a small problem and I suspect that it is related to age, both mine and the president’s.
Well pleased I am that we have a new government in Guyana and more than pleased that Brigadier Granger is the President.
I am sure that much good change will come about under his regime and Guyana will once again become a place that is safe, cultured, progressive and desirable to visit.
Now for the good President Granger:
1. He is a public figure and will always be in the eye of the populace on TV, radio and the newspapers
2. His attire should always be impeccable, which means that he should have a butler at office and at home to see that he is always impeccably outfitted
3. Those Nehru suits are a thing of the past and should be set aside for they appear far too jaded
4. Ties and jackets are back in vogue and are excellent visual presentations at photo shots with visiting dignitaries in his offices and at public functions.
The few pictures I saw in your newspapers of President Granger posing with foreign dignitaries and visitors, with open neck shirt and tie-less, in my humble opinion, were not images we would like the world to be seeing.
Respectfully I suggest that our president give very careful attention to his public attire when he is attending to any public matter with photographers in attendance.
