The Grove/Diamond Community Policing Group yesterday teamed up with ranks of the Golden Grove Police Station to make the lives of two senior citizens easier on Father’s Day.
Laurie Evans Greenidge, 74, and wife came home from church yesterday to find their yard being weeded and steps being scrubbed by members of the Policing Group.
His gate was also repaired.
“I know that they said that they will pass by but it was still a pleasant surprise. It is good to see such civic help from our people,” Greenidge said.
According to John Marshall, a member of the group, they will continue to monitor the couple who are both visually impaired and had benefitted from a home built by Food For The Poor.
The couple also received a food hamper.
