President of the Georgetown Dominoes Association (GDA) Faye Joseph has organised a massive Father’s Day Competition which will see most of the top teams in country participate for prize monies totaling over $400,000.
The Competition which will be played on Sunday at the President’s Residence at 1223 Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt will see teams such as Spartans, Thunder, Rage, All Seasons, F&H Printery, Saddam, Scamblers, Raiders, Turning Point, Village, Frankie’s, West Side Brothers and Determined among other vie for the top three prizes.
The winning team will receive $200,000, runner-up $150,000 and 3rd place $50,000 along with trophies.
Joseph, who has been at the helm of Dominoes for sometime now told this newspaper that the competition will be played in the memory of her late husband Orin Jospeh, who was a former President of the GDA and avid player as well.
She said teams will not be asked to pay an entrance fee to participate in the tournament which is expected to start at 15:00 hrs sharp.
According to her, teams that arrive after the stipulated time will not be able to participate in the competition.
Another incentive according to her is that special prizes will be given to fathers, including the oldest to play in the event, while there are many other prizes to be given away to them.
Interested teams could contact tele #685-1009 or 665-5855.
