Dear Editor,
With the recent announcement of Minister of Communities, Ronald Bulkan, urging senior officers of the Department of Housing to execute their professional duties with integrity and impartiality, I would like to highlight something that has been disturbing me for a while.
If the government investigates it would uncover many unethical behavior and wrong doing that surround the activities of Region Three Vice-Chairman, Azzam Pasha Mohamed.
This official has misused all the state resources under his command. This is most notable in the use of Government vehicle and other resources under his disposal for his personal gains which have nothing to do with his functions as Vice Chairman.
This official also misused his office to pressure other officials into facilitating his personal desires especially to enhance his 10 acres of farmland.
This man should repay the government for all the gasoline and personal time used with state assets to execute personal functions rather than official government duties.
He is also allowing his relatives to drive the state vehicles for their own personal missions.
This is a man who pressured the former REO to construct proper roads that lead to his farm. Taxpayers then have to foot the bill for him to transport his goats, chicken and duck feed while taking an NDC worker to also work on his farm which of course the Government pays for.
Not forgetting this man also allowed his 14-year-old grandson to drive the state vehicle damaging it which caused it to undergo repairs which taxpayers also paid for.
Imagine this man is so desperate that he sells earth by the truck loads which are taken from the state land which is severely damaged after such acts.
