A Berbice youth organization has been formed to foster unity and look at other social issues that may be affecting young people in the country.
The Guyana United League f or Development Association (GULDA) on Saturday held a march and walk-a-thon in New Amsterdam Canje.
The main purpose of the walk according to members was to unite the races in Guyana. It was observed that the country has been badly divided during and after the recently concluded Regional and National Elections.
The walk commenced at the Sheet Anchor Turn at East Canje and concluded at the Banks DIH Limited, Main and New Street, New Amsterdam.
The activity drew a number of youths including school children from the New Amsterdam/ Canje area.
