Young Warriors/Rose Hall Community Center name squad
Safraz Photo Studio of No 78 Corriverton, Corentyne, Berbice is on board with the Berbice Cricket Board fund raiser “Caricom Championship” 2015.

At a simple presentation ceremony held recently, Mr Safraz Gaffor, Managing Director of Safraz Photo Studio said that he is happy to be part of this fundraiser organized by the Berbice Cricket Board. He said that he loves the game of cricket and will always make contributions to its enhancement. He added that he is aware of the politics of the game in Guyana and hopes that soon it will be resolved. Gaffor mentioned that Berbice Cricket Board is highly respected and will always get his help.
In response, My Vicky Bharosay, a member of the BCB thanked Gaffor for coming on board. He called on the community to support the business so that it can give back more to the development of people. He promised good mileage to all sponsors. Gaffor was a part sponsor of the first ever Upper Corentyne Twenty overs Cricket Competition for second division teams in the area. Thereafter, the UCCA was resuscitated and now doing a great job in organising the game in the area. The BCB is seeking help to make sure that three day first division cricket returns to Berbice. The board is appealing to all cricket lovers in Guyana and in the diaspora to come on board with the BCB to further enhance the game in the ancient county. Proceeds from this event will be used mainly to organise this very important three day cricket competition and will be played at the historic Albion Sports Complex on Sunday July 5, 2015.
The Caricom Championship will see the top eight T20 first division teams in Berbice taking part in a ten over knockout competition with the final of 20 overs to be played under lights for a top prize of $80,000 and trophy. The runner up will receive $40,000 and trophy with the losing finalists $15,000 each. Man of the match in every game will be rewarded. Action begins at 10am sharp.
The teams are: Upper Corentyne/Skeldon, Port Mourant, Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, Albion, Young Warriors/Rose Hall Center, Police/Bermine, Blairmont/West Berbice and Bush Lot/D’Edward. The board said that the teams were selected in such a manner so that all the top players in Berbice will be on show.
Meanwhile, the combined Young Warriors/Rose Hall CC squad was announced and it includes: Shimron and Seon Hetmyer, Kevin Ramdeen, Kassim Khan, Amir Khan, Wahid Edwards, Alex Algoo, Suresh Dhanai, Linden Austin, Andre Grant, Christoff Bahadur, Ameer Rahaman and Junior Williams. The manager is Michael Ramdeen with the Coach Kwesi Maltay.
Many gate prizes will be up for grabs for the fans with a well stocked bar and musical entertainment. Games for the young and old will be there. To promote the game, fifteen passes each will be given to eight schools in the Lower Corentyne area.
