DEAR EDITOR,
We, the residents of Port Kaituma, are appealing to the Minister of Communities for improvement of our water supply.
There are some parts of the community without water for the past two years forcing us to depend solely on rain. We are pooling our little monies to get water to our homes.
Our pump station located at Citrus Grove Port had two engines. Unfortunately for us, one developed mechanical problems and was sent to Georgetown for repairs. When inquiries were made for the engine to be returned, GWI said that they cannot find it.
The lone engine that is in operation cannot supply the entire community with water.
In our humble opinion, that engine has outlived its usefulness and we are begging to have a bigger pump. We look forward for urgent intervention.
