A 20-year-old fisherman was yesterday remanded for the murder of his alleged rival, taxi driver Dennis Narine,
who was shot dead at his La Parfait Harmonie, West Bank Demerara home on May 31, last.
Ravindra Ramdat, 20, of Grove, East Bank Demerara, appeared at the Wales Magistrate’s Court yesterday, where he was remanded to prison until July 31, 2015.
Police were initially told that Narine, his wife and three children were asleep when the taxi driver was aroused by a noise at a window.
Narine is said to have gone to investigate when he was shot in the chest by someone who fired through the window.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Police, who had ruled out robbery, subsequently apprehended Ramdat at La Grange, West Bank Demerara on Wednesday.
