Over the past few weeks several businesses across the country have been donating large sums of monies to aid in the restoration of Georgetown, the “Garden City” in the Caribbean.
The latest efforts have seen the owners of Mohamed’s Enterprise and the City Mall donating $1M to the Mayor and City Council (M&CC). In a release, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mohamed’s Enterprise, Mr. Azruddin Mohamed, said that corporate establishments and the citizens of Guyana have the power to strive and work together in order to achieve higher social, environmental and economic standards of living. He added that in one month the combined efforts of citizens have elevated hygienic standards across the nation.
Mohammed noted that H.E. President David Granger and his administration deserve the highest acknowledgements and support by everyone, since the clean-up Guyana efforts were initiated by the president.
Congratulations were also extended to the new president and his administration, by Mohamed, on behalf of the two companies
Congratulations were also extended to the M&CC for their efforts in resuscitating Guyana, as they were urged to work with every individual regardless of ethnicity, religion and political persuasion.
An appeal was made to the M&CC to assertively enforce the city by-laws. A request was made to have plans in place to relocate and rehabilitate vagrants from the streets so that they can be productive citizens.
The companies are calling on Corporate Guyana and citizens to make meaningful contributions in cash or physical input in their respective localities, towards the restoration of Guyana.
