Former FIFA Referee now FIFA Assessor Roy McArthur is set to make his debut as an assessor in World Cup
Qualifying on Wednesday when host Aruba take on Barbados in Round 2 of the CONCACAF qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, Russia 2018.
According to McArthur, the other officials for the game are from the USA and he is honored to be making his debut and looking forward to the challenge.
The experienced McArthur, who enjoyed a successful career as a FIFA Referee as well as on the local scene, also officiated in that capacity back in 2006 in the Honduras v Netherlands Antilles match and will become the first Guyanese official to stand in the middle and as an assessor in World Cup Qualifying.
This will be McArthur’s fourth appointment as an Assessor for 2015 having also officiated in the CONCACAF Under-20 championship in Jamaica in January, CFU Club Championship Group 4 in Haiti in April and the CFU Club Championships Finals last month in Trinidad and Tobago.
