Weeks of intense preparations will come to a delectable climax when the Maximum Sports, Combat and Strength hosts world renowned champion body builder, Laura Creavalle, in commemoration of its first anniversary celebrations.
Ms Creavalle will share valuable knowledge and experiences during seminars on nutrition and healthy living on Wednesday June 3 at the National Cultural Centre. Last Friday afternoon, the renowned body builder and Mr. Massiah paid a courtesy call on Minister of Education with responsibility for sports, Dr. Rupert Roopnarine, at his Brickdam office to brief him on the details of the programme.
The Minister lauded Ms Creavalle’s sports accomplishments and pledged to support the impending activities. He also promised to attend the seminar if only to be appraised of the professional issues to be dispensed. Minister Roopnarine is also expected to deliver brief remarks at the function.
Ms Creavalle thanked the Minister for his kind words even as she extended an offer to assist in educating children in the values of exercise and nutrition. She said that she had developed a fun-filled method of dispensing the lessons to children which she referred to as ‘Laura’s A B C’ exercises.
Meanwhile, Ms Creavalle intimated that during the seminar she will be sharing her knowledge, expertise and experience on important topics like exercise and training, nutrition, diet, weight gain and weight loss and low fat recipes. The renowned bodybuilder will also have physical interaction with
participants while engaged in exercise routines.
There will also be martial arts demonstrations by Guyana Karate College and the Jaguar School of Combat. Other features include self-defence demonstrations and dramatizations. Notable participants include 13 years old 3rd Dan Black Belt, Aliyah Wong, Kirk ‘Chow Pow’ Jardine, and Max Massiah who will also play the saxophone in one of the musical renditions with support from another musician, Herbie Marshal’ there will also be guest poses by bodybuilders Alisha Fortune and Sylvester Andrews.
