Deonarine (92), Hinds (79) feature in 165-run opening stand for Tucber Park
The 2015 New Building Society Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition for teams in Berbice continued
recently with Michael Kendall scoring 116 with 9 fours and 8 sixes to steer his team No52 Survival to 242 for 6 in 30 overs against No 48 Challengers who, in reply were bowled out for 105 with Kendall coming back with his off spin to take 3 for 19 from 6 overs, rounding off a good all round performance.
Tucber Park’s opening batsmen, Berbice under 17 cricketer Steve Deonarine with 92 (8 fours and 1 six) and former Berbice under-19 wicketkeeper batsman Hakeem Hinds with 79 (10 fours) put on 165 runs in an opening stand for their team against Guyana Eagles. However, after both of them departed in quick succession, Eagles left arm spinner Gregory Crandon picked up 5 wickets to see Tucber Park scraping to 210 all out which in the end was 48 runs more than the
Eagles can make.
Relying to Rose Hall Community Center’s 143 from 33 overs, Canje Pathfinder were soon shakily placed at 32 for 6 before Keishar Gangaram came in and blasted 81 (5 fours and 3 sixes) to lead them to a narrow one wicket win.
After Crabwood Creek Rising bowled out No69 Red Rose for a paltry 67 in 18 overs, they romped home to a 10-wicket win in just 4.2 overs with Naresh Deo hitting 50 not out with 5 fours and 3 sixes.

At Cumberland, Tucber Park beat Guyana Eagles by 48 runs. Tucker Park 210 in 40 overs with Steve Deonarine 92 and Hakeem Hinds 79. Gregory Crandon took 5 for 38 and Kellon Henry 2 for 25. Guyana Eagles 162 in 37 overs. Kishan Ramsarran 47 and Marlon Sheppard 26. Brandon Stewart 2 for 15, Niall Smith 2 for 20 and Omar Weatherspoon 2 for 26.
At Rose Hall Canje, Canje Pathfinder beat Rose Hall Community Center by 1 wicket. RHCC 143 in 33 overs with Sanjay Badal 3 for 9 and Videsh Singh 2 for 28. Canje Pathfinder 144 for 9 in 25.4 overs with Keishar Gangaram 81. Andre Grant took 4 for 28.
At No 69, Crabwood Creek Rising beat No 69 Red Rose by 10 wickets. No 69 Red Rose 67 in 18 overs with Satesh Baldeo 4 for 32 and Quadir Khan 3 for 3. Crabwood Creek Rising 68 without loss in 4.2 overs with Naresh Deo 50 n,o.
