Twenty-nine year-old Onica Gilead of Sisters Village, East Bank Berbice, appeared before Magistrate Sherdel
Isaacs Marcus in the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court yesterday on a charge of attempted murder.
According to the charge read by Prosecutor Sergeant Phillip Sheriff, the accused on Sunday last, at Sisters Village, wounded Osmond Gilead with intent to murder him by dousing him with hot oil from a kaharee (aluminum cooking pot).
She was subsequently granted bail in the sum of $65,000 and the matter will continue on June 16 at the Sisters Magistrate’s Court where the case has been transferred to.
Onica Gilead is being represented by attorney at law Charrandas Persaud.
